Testing My Resilience
I often talk to my clients about the importance of being resilient. Ultimately, resilience is what keeps us going when things are not going our way. I generally consider myself to be quite resilient, but today is taxing that resiliency. I will not go through all the things over the past weeks that have not exactly gone may way, but today was the clincher…..water coming through my bathroom ceiling the bathroom I spent a great deal of time and money having had renovated to exactly what I wanted.
Now in the past, I would have to put it bluntly, lost the plot. I am a passionate man which can sometimes mean I have a temper. But surprisingly, I did not lose my temper nor did I get particularly agitated. Indeed, I handled this on top of all the other challenges of the past several weeks with a calmness which surprised even me.
I am mindfulness trained and I do my utmost to do daily mediation to keep myself in balance. Over these past weeks, I have ensured that I practised this ever day, sometimes twice a day. I have to say that the proof in the pudding is in the eating, my resilience continues unabated despite the challenges. I recommend you all take some time out and centre yourselves through some meditative practice.
