For many people the idea of therapy is about problems rather than solutions. One thing that often gets forgotten is that therapy often leads to new beginnings for those who attend. When a person changes, the world must change with him or her or the client enters another world. Whether the client remains in the old world or new it matters not, what does matter is that this is the opportunity for a new beginning for him or her.
New beginnings can be exciting and terrifying at the same time. One thing that I have seen often is that with us living longer people are divorcing at a later age than 20 years ago. This is the kind of new beginning I am referring to when I say that it is exciting and terrifying at the same time.
New beginnings are something to be cherished. The fact that we can regenerate a new life for ourselves makes humankind the unique thing that it is. Through therapy, we can foster these changes in a way that the individual can both manage and excel in. Ask yourself the question, where would I like to be this time next week, next month, next year? Embrace your ability to have a new beginning and make it your reality.
