Never Too Old To Learn
Because of the time of year, being conference time, my mind is focused on learning. They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, I very much disagree with this. Conferences are a time to gain new skills and insights. We are reflective professionals so the idea that we have time to look at our work and see how we can do it better is one of the best parts of our work. I am sitting in a very full room on a Sunday morning relatively early considering the disco and socialising last night. These are people who are keen to learn and grow as practitioners and as human beings.
Our learning is not simply facts and approaches, but we also learn about each other on a more personal level. I feel a great honour to have shared and been shared with some of the delegates thoughts, dreams and feelings. Through sharing these things with one another we can grow so much as people and professionals. This is the last day of our conference, I am already looking forward to next year’s event growing and sharing with a very special group of people my friends and colleagues.
