Is Meditation Self Hypnosis By Another Name
One of the things I often ask clients to do is to do some form of self hypnosis as part of their treatment with me. It is an excellent way for the client to own their success. I know that may wound an odd way of putting it, but I want my clients to be responsible for their success not me. If they are responsible for their success, then no one can take away the results from them.
There is much written about meditation and the usefulness of doing so. As a mindfulness practitioner myself, I cannot help but notice the great similarity between mindfulness meditation and self hypnosis. It is my considered view that it matters little what a person calls what they do, but rather the technique is the important factor. A rose by any other name comes immediately to mind.
I would suggest that anyone reading this may well benefit from a course of meditation or self hypnosis. It is not an indulgence to look after your needs. For 10 to 20 minutes per day is a small price to pay for peace of mind. As we all know, peace of mind is one of the most important things we can have.
