Make Time to Live
The world has become a busier and busier place, work for many people has become all consuming and there seems little time to do the things that nurture our soul. Be that spiritual, intellectual or emotional needs we need to refocus our attention on the things that make life worth living.
So many of my clients come to me with generalise anxiety disorder, and when we look more closely at what is happening in their lives. There seems to be a common denominator which relates to lifestyle. For the vast majority of people I see with generalised anxiety disorder, there is a distinct lack of a life. They do the things that they are obliged to, work, family etc. However, they have sacrificed the things that make them happy.
For so many people happiness is considered a luxury and frivolous. The reality is that happiness is the stuff that makes us whole. It binds us together and keeps us mentally secure. I will often recommend to clients to make time every day to do something nice for themselves. It may sound trite, but it is often the simplest things which brings the greatest therapeutic change. Go out and be good to yourself today.
