Letting go

I am often asked if there are simple techniques which allow people to release negative thoughts and emotions. Clients will often find themselves stuck. Either stuck in an old pattern, stuck with an old emotion, or just unable to move on following a change that has been forced upon them.

Here the Sedona method is very useful. This is a complex method of reducing stress, and we will present just a snapshot here of the process of letting go. .

The basic model has three simple steps:

  1. Relax and allow yourself to feel whatever it is you feel. Really allow it, welcome it if possible, but really let the feeling be there
  2. Ask yourself the following questions:
    1. Could you let it go?
    2. Would you?
    3. When?

This system can work with any feelings, including positive ones (makes them stronger).
