Be in the Here and Now
When we are children tomorrow never comes quickly enough. We are always looking forward to something. Be that our birthday, Christmas, being off school or whatever, the child’s life is lived in anticipation.
As a general rule we are meant to out grow this and become more mindful living our lives in the here and now. However, for many, this leap simply is not made. We live our lives from holiday to holiday or relationship to relationship, our minds never seem to be on where we are and what we are doing right now.
Now I am not trying to be a killjoy, nor am I saying that there is no reason to look forward to things. But we must not sacrifice what is going on right now in the hope of something better tomorrow. If things today are not the way you would want them, there is only one person who can do something about that and that is you. If you want to live your life with purpose and be happy, you are to be the one in charge of making that your reality. After all, none of us know what tomorrow brings, so it is far better we make what we want of today and just get on and enjoy the here and now.
