We Need The Christmas Spirit
Today’s title will surprise many of my friends, as anyone who knows me well will tell you, I am not a Christmas person at all. I am not one who celebrates and I believe the whole thing has become far, far too commercial. However, the idea of what Christmas is meant to mean, peace on Earth and goodwill towards all, is a message that I believe we need to hear and experience more than ever.
With all that is going on, if society was a person, I would say that it is suffering with significant mental health issues. With such strife and bad feelings and downright hatred, if society was a person, I would say that it was in great need of a therapeutic intervention.
The way people are acting towards one another the things that people are saying and doing are not helping society in any way. We need to stop and breathe for a moment. We need to remember that we are all connected and that what hurts one of us inevitably hurts us all. We need to remember that we do not always have to agree, but mutual respect must not be lost in our disagreements. In other words, we need to embrace peace on Earth and goodwill towards us all, if society is to eventually get past this period of significant mental decline.
